With a growing tummy, changing body shape, hormones and sleeping patterns, many women experience pregnancy related aches and pains.
But did you know that many of these changes that affect your musculoskeletal system in preparation for child birth also remain for 6 to 9 months after birth?
Our physiotherapists have special interest in both pregnancy and postnatal physiotherapy and Pilates. We are here to support you from your first trimester through to your baby’s arrival and your post-natal recovery.
During pregnancy, your body undergoes many changes and we are here to support you through them with Physio treatment, Pilates and advice.
Physiotherapy can provide you with short and long term pain relief, while also working together with you to provide strategies to help you along with the rest of your pregnancy.
Your maternal health physio can also help by guiding you through exercises which are safe to do during pregnancy, helping you feel stronger and reducing your risk of developing other pregnancy-related aches and pains.
During pregnancy, participating in some form of exercise such as Pilates has been shown to be very beneficial in both your health and the health of your baby.

Our classes at Phyx. are designed by our physiotherapists who have undergone training in pregnancy care and exercises.

Welcome to the wonderful (but challenging!) world of motherhood.
Your body has been through a lot throughout your pregnancy, whether you experienced morning (or all day) sickness, back pain, pubic pain, fatigue, nausea or reflux…
And then of course, the birth.
Now that baby has FINALLY arrived and things are starting to settle (a little!), you might be starting to feel like it’s the right time to start doing something to help your body recover and get stronger.
We are here to support you through your journey into motherhood helping with aches and pains, recovering from birth, breastfeeding support and Pilates.
Starting from 6 weeks after your beautiful baby is born, this is a Pilates class that is a safe and effective way of helping your postnatal recovery.
Bring your baby along with you, and enjoy the comfort of exercising with other mums.
In these small group classes, you will learn how to safely activate your pelvic floor, while strengthening and toning your entire body with a special focus on core control.

Our Pilates classes at Phyx. are designed by our physiotherapists who have undergone training in pregnancy and postpartum exercises.
